President Buhari was in a closed door meeting with a 10-man delegation of the Senate over the tussle between Senate President Bukola Saraki and Inspector General of the Police Ibrahim Idris. The meeting, which is taking place at the president’s office inside the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, started around 1:00pm.
Recall that last week, Senate president had informed his colleagues that IGP Ibrahim Idris, was planning to frame him by using criminal suspects caught in Kwara state.
He alleged that the suspects had been transferred to Abuja where they will be coerced into making false allegations against him.
Meanwhile, Saraki who was expected to lead the delegation was absent.
Those present were Senate Leader Ahmad Lawan, Chief Whip Olusola Adeyeye, Minority Leader Godswill Akpabio, Danjuma Goje, Sam Anyanwu, Aliyu Wammako and Fatima Raji-Rasaki.
