After the tragic attack on the Airport last week Tuesday where two bombs were placed in the departure area claiming 35 lives, the airport is set to reopen by allowing a limited restart of passenger flights in the coming days. The departure region which was heavily damaged has been replaced by a temporary structure to allow the restart of flights.
The spokesperson of the Airport said that the temporary flights were to check if all their procedures were in order. She added by saying that if all requirements were met, the airport could re-open on Wednesday at the earliest, but only at a maximum capacity of 20 per cent.
She explained that the tests included checking security and fire procedures, as well as operational items such as the handling of baggage and the signs in the terminal.
